The Bronze

About the Film

Hope Anne Greggory (The Big Bang Theory’s Melissa Rauch, who also co-wrote the screenplay) won the hearts of millions by claiming the bronze medal for women’s gymnastics in the 2004 Olympics despite an injury. For over a decade, she’s been desperately clinging to what passes for celebrity in her small hometown of Amherst, Ohio, still sporting her patriotic warm-up suit and making life a living hell for anyone who dares cross her path, including her put-upon dad (Gary Cole). When Maggie, a young gymnast, threatens to steal Hope Anne’s spotlight, the foul-mouthed champion must decide if she’ll remain a bad sport forever, or instead help the promising newcomer achieve her own Olympic dreams in this brash, satirical comedy.
