About the Film

When an anchor gives way, two mountain climbers are forced into a balancing act to avoid certain death.    
 
About the Director

Mark Ram was born in Groningen on 10 September 1972. He has started his TV career as a young actor in the 90s with the quality dutch serie ‘De Partizanen’. Which received two Golden Calf’s, the golden Chest Award and the Grand Prix Award. In the 90s he also starred in the Dutch television series Unit 13 which ran for 3 years. In 2000 he joined the Nationale Toneel (Dutch National Theatre) starring in the plays Tartuffe (Moliere), Dealer’s Choice (Patrick Marber), House & Garden (Alan Aykbourn). In 2004 he founded the actor studio, Studio ACT2ACT in Amsterdam, which has 400 students a year. Currently he is working as an actor on a Dutch movie Child in Time, from director Hanro Smitsman. The movie Balance is his debut as a director. The movie is produced as ‘green’ as possible, taking in consideration the environment as much as possible. Balance participated in the first Green Film Making competition in the Netherlands 2012.
