About the Film

Based on the novel by Lisa Klein, this fresh reinterpretation of Shakespeare's Hamlet places the focus firmly on Hamlet's paramour, Ophelia (Daisy Ridley, Star Wars), rather than on the Danish crown prince. As the betrayal of Queen Gertrude (Naomi Watts) and King Claudius (Clive Owen) sets Hamlet (George MacKay) on a fateful course, Ophelia, the queen's most trusted lady-in-waiting, finds herself caught between loyalty and love, and the choice could cost her her life.
