After learning their six-year-old sons were switched at birth, two families struggle to adapt to their new lives and deal with the emotional rollercoaster that ensues. This powerful story explores issues of class and parenthood in modern day Japan and what lengths one will go through to keep their family together. Portrayed through moving performances and graceful realized by master director Hirokazu Kore-eda (STILL WALKING, NOBODY KNOWS), this stunning evocation of family dynamics and relationships was awarded the Jury Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
